Electricity

Production of electricity from pyrolysis is a function of the calorific make up of the feed stock, the quality of the syngas, and the efficiency of the electricity generation equipment. Modern gas turbines have become sufficiently sophisticated and robust to process syngas efficiently, and gas engines operated in a combined cycle with heat recovery, offer optimum efficiencies. Within the Glanpower process, 1 tonne of feed will produce 1 MW of electricity approximately and 2 MW of heat approximately.
