Heat recovery in the pyrolysis process affords an opportunity to engage locally with heat sinks in the form of industry, hotels , hospitals or leisure facilities to supply cost effective heating for these activities. 2 MW of heat per tonne of feedstock will be produced as a minimum through efficient pyrolysis schemes. Heating requirements of in excess of 1000 homes can easily be met by small-scale pyrolysis installations, reducing dependency on fossil fuels.
