Combined Heat and Power

Combined heat and power (CHP) is the simultaneous generation of electricity and usable heat in a single process. In its simplest form, the heat produced during power production is recovered and used to produce steam, hot water and/or chilled water (tri-generation). Optimisation of electricity generation and heat recovery have led to energy savings in industry of up to 43%, where heating and chilling costs can be supplemented with heat recovery and chilling.
